What is Zythera?

Zythera is a free-to-play Old School RuneScape private server featuring all 23 skills, raids, bosses, PvP, a player-driven economy, and a passionate community. No pay-to-win.

How do I play?

1. Register an account on our website. 2. Download the client from the Download page. 3. Run the client and log in with your registered credentials. 4. Choose your game mode and start playing!

What game modes are available?

Regular (150x combat / 80x skilling), Ironman (80x, self-sufficient), Hardcore Ironman (80x, one life), and Ultimate Ironman (80x, no bank). Lower XP rate options (10x, 5x) are also available with increased drop rate bonuses.

Is it free to play?

Yes! Zythera is completely free to play. You can optionally support the server by purchasing credits in our store, which give cosmetic perks and convenience items. Nothing is pay-to-win.

How do I vote and get rewards?

Log in on the website, go to the Vote page, and click on the vote site links. After completing your vote, rewards are delivered automatically in-game. You can vote every 12 hours on each site.

How do I get donator rank?

Purchase credits from the Store page. Your total amount spent determines your donator rank, which unlocks permanent perks like drop rate boosts, donator zones, and cosmetic titles. See the Store page for the full rank table.

The client won't open. What do I do?

Make sure you have Java installed. If using the .jar file, right-click and "Open with" Java. If the client opens but shows a black screen, delete the cache folder at C:\Users\YourName\.nearreality\ and restart. Still having issues? Ask in #support on Discord.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds may be issued within 14 days if credits were not delivered or for duplicate charges. See our Refund Policy for full details.

How do I report a bug or player?

Open a support ticket on Discord in the #open-ticket channel. Provide as much detail as possible including screenshots. For bugs, include steps to reproduce the issue.

🚫 Strictly Prohibited

1. Real-World Trading (RWT) — Buying, selling, or trading in-game items/accounts for real money or items in other games. Permanent ban.
2. Botting / Macroing — Using third-party software, bots, auto-clickers, or macros. Permanent ban.
3. Bug Abuse — Exploiting bugs or glitches for personal gain instead of reporting them. Ban + rollback.
4. Account Sharing / Selling — Sharing login credentials or selling/buying accounts. Permanent ban on all involved accounts.
5. DDoS / Hacking Threats — Threatening or attempting to attack the server or players. Permanent ban + IP ban.
6. Chargebacks — Filing chargebacks without contacting us first. Permanent ban.

⚠ General Rules

7. Respect All Players — No harassment, bullying, racism, sexism, or hate speech. Treat everyone with respect.
8. No Advertising — Do not advertise other servers, websites, or services in-game or on Discord.
9. No Scamming — All trades must be completed as agreed. Flower poker / gambling scams will be punished.
10. No Impersonation — Do not impersonate staff members or other players.
11. English Only in Public Chat — Public chat should be in English. Other languages in private messages or clan chat are fine.
12. No Spam — Do not spam messages, yell chat, or trade requests.
13. Appropriate Names — Usernames must not be offensive, inappropriate, or impersonate staff.
14. Multi-logging Limits — Maximum 3 accounts online at once. No using alts to manipulate the economy or abuse systems.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zythera ("the Service"), including our website, game client, and any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must not share, sell, or transfer your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Virtual Items & Credits

All virtual items, credits, and in-game currency are licensed to you, not sold. They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or real currency. We reserve the right to modify, remove, or adjust virtual items at any time for game balance or other reasons.

5. Purchases & Payments

All purchases are processed through Paddle, our authorized payment provider. By making a purchase, you agree to Paddle's terms of service. Prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. All applicable taxes are handled by Paddle as the Merchant of Record.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: use bots, macros, or automation software; exploit bugs or glitches (report them instead); harass, threaten, or abuse other players; engage in real-world trading (RWT) of in-game items; attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service; impersonate staff members; or create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions.

7. Intellectual Property

Zythera and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the Zythera team. The Service is a fan-made project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex Ltd.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zythera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your chosen username, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store plaintext passwords.

Game Data: We store your in-game progress including skills, inventory, bank, quest status, and other gameplay data necessary to provide the Service.

Technical Data: We may collect your IP address for security purposes (login verification, anti-fraud, and abuse prevention).

Payment Data: Payment information (credit card, PayPal) is collected and processed by Paddle, our payment provider. We do not store your payment details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain the Service; process transactions and deliver purchased credits; protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; communicate important updates about the Service; and improve game balance and player experience.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed using BCrypt. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with: Paddle (payment processing); law enforcement (if required by law); and service providers who assist in operating the Service (under confidentiality agreements).

5. Cookies

We use local storage (similar to cookies) to maintain your login session on the website. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us on Discord. Account deletion will result in permanent loss of all game progress.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.

1. Digital Goods

All purchases on Zythera are for digital virtual goods (credits) that are delivered instantly upon payment confirmation. Due to the instant digital nature of these goods, all sales are generally considered final.

2. Refund Eligibility

We may issue a refund in the following circumstances:

• Credits were not delivered due to a technical error on our side
• You were charged multiple times for the same purchase
• An unauthorized transaction was made on your account

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date.

3. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds will NOT be issued in the following cases:

• Credits have already been spent in the in-game store
• Your account was banned for violating our Terms of Service
• You simply changed your mind about the purchase
• You claim you did not receive items that logs confirm were delivered
• More than 14 days have passed since the purchase

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

1. Join our Discord server
2. Open a support ticket in the #open-ticket channel
3. Provide your username, transaction ID, and reason for the refund
4. Our team will review your request within 48 hours

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed through Paddle (our payment provider) and returned to the original payment method. Processing time is typically 5-10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider.

6. Chargebacks

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us will result in an immediate and permanent ban of your account. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any issues.
